In addition to highly competitive compensation packages, Alcea surrogates receive a monthly bump box filled with locally sourced, ethical, artisan gifts and experiences. From prenatal massages and spa days to yummy food delivery, we remove stress from both intended parents and surrogates by honoring the incredibly special people helping to complete families. Our contracts include housekeeping services from 32 weeks on and a postpartum doula for five days post-birth to help with immediate recovery. As previous surrogates and intended parents, we know how to make this journey special.
While there are large variances in compensation, Alcea uses a ‘flat rate’ inclusive compensation structure that is highly competitive. Because our intended parents expect a meticulously screened surrogate, we only accept approximately 5% of applicants, further demonstrating our value of quality over quantity,

Why a “hybrid” all-inclusive?
Surrogacy is already an emotional and time-intensive process. There is no value in confusing expense reports or waiting for reimbursements. In addition, we know intended parents expect Alcea to provide them with transparency in pricing and expectations. This approach provides a more accurate upfront understanding of their financial obligations while making things simple for our surrogates.
Our generous monthly miscellaneous fee of $250 considers all the extras we know you might need, with no expectation to prove you drove a certain amount of miles or needed prenatal vitamins.
Once your contract is signed, we upload your compensation schedule into SeedTrust escrow management, and every reimbursement is calendered and automatically disbursed. Surrogates and intended parents can log in and see what is on the horizon; no action needed.
You can see that your journey is funded, so there is no chance you will be left without your contracted compensation. We protect you.
When traveling, all flights and hotels are paid upfront by Alcea, and you are issued a pre-funded cash card so you never have to worry about using your own credit cards or dipping into your own money and waiting for reimbursement.
Your portion of your monthly healthy health insurance premium is covered, if applicable.

When you receive higher baseline compensation plus a few extras, you determine the most efficient way to utilize your comp: reimburse grandparents for childcare, bring your spouse, pay a pet sitter. That’s why you’re an Alcea surrogate, and that’s why we give you more freedom, trust, and higher base pay. We trust you to make the decision, and that allows you to make the choices that are best for your family.
Am I protected in the event of complications and how?
While surrogacy is no riskier than any other pregnancy, there are elements of IVF that are invasive. From injections to multiple vaginal ultrasounds, we ensure you are compensated for these procedures’ time and stress as they occur ($500 - $2500).
Because only about 15% of our surrogates experience an “invasive procedure” (such as a D&C or amniocentesis) during their journey, we would never expect our intended parents to pay for services not rendered - but our contracts meticulously spell out the possibilities so everyone is prepared and protected. Yet another way Alcea is decidedly different!
We don’t believe people courageous enough to help others create a family should ever be concerned about how their own family will handle complications. Every surrogate is provided with a short term disability and life insurance policy in the event a major complication arises. Lost wages and childcare are covered and not capped. Surrogacy should never result in loss of income for YOUR family.
