Surrogate Compensation
$60,000 - $100,000 | More for Experienced Carrier & Multiples
*costs are paid over and above the agency fee

Fee is variable based on the surrogate’s location and whether or not they have surrogate-friendly insurance. Experienced surrogates charge significantly more.

Included in all surrogate profiles is the Carrier Compensation Acknowledgement. This customized view provides detailed compensation information, inclusive of the carriers needs for lost wages, childcare, short-term disability, etc. No need to haggle or spend time with on the specifics of your contract, with the intent to pay the surrogate full compensation and expenses. Below are some of the typical items addressed (and approximate amounts) covered in the Gestational Carrier Contract.

Surrogate Medical Expenses

Some surrogates have medical coverage. If yours does not, or if the carrier’s medical insurance is inadequate, you will provide medical insurance for prenatal care, delivery, and postpartum care and a one-year life insurance policy. Please note that these are estimates and may vary depending on the types of policies purchased.

Legal Fees

Alcea Surrogacy includes the drafting of the Agency Agreement in its agency fee; each party will retain independent legal counsel to review and discuss the agency contract if desired. When it comes time to draft your surrogacy contract, you can count on our third partner reproduction attorney to be your partner and advocate in the process.

As the intended parent, you are responsible for the legal costs incurred for both the gestational surrogacy agreement and the pre-birth order process, but your surrogate’s legal fees are covered within your agency expense. The carrier is provided with independent legal counsel to review and edit the contract to their satisfaction.

Because Alcea has such a meticulous upfront screening and matching process, most every detail of the contract has already been discussed - just another way our experience is decidedly different in maintaining cost for our intended parents.
