Legal Fees

Alcea Surrogacy includes the drafting of the Agency Agreement in its agency fee; each party will retain independent legal counsel to review and discuss the agency contract if desired. When it comes time to draft your surrogacy contract, you can count on our third partner reproduction attorney to be your partner and advocate in the process.

As the intended parent, you are responsible for the legal costs incurred for both the gestational surrogacy agreement and the pre-birth order process, but your surrogate’s legal fees are covered within your agency expense. The carrier is provided with independent legal counsel to review and edit the contract to their satisfaction.

Because Alcea has such a meticulous upfront screening and matching process, most every detail of the contract has already been discussed - just another way our experience is decidedly different in maintaining cost for our intended parents.

  • Surrogate's Attorney Fees

    Cost: Included up to $1,500

Intended Parent's Attorney Fees and Pre-Birth Order Work

    Cost: $7,500 - $15,000

  • • As set forth in our agency 'Agreement for Services', fees will be paid per the schedule above.

    • Once a surrogate selection contract is signed, you enter a binding agreement with Alcea Partners and cannot utilize the chosen carrier with any other agency.

    • Your carrier will be represented by an independent attorney for the review and negotiation of the Gestational Carrier Agreement.

    • The surrogate's attorney fee is included in the Alcea Partner agency fee.

    • International Couples will require significant additional work with regard to birth certificate, medical bills, immigration, and citizenship.

    • The base fee for a carrier with health insurance which we believe will cover the medical cost of pregnancy and delivery is generally higher, as is the fee for experienced carriers.

    • You will be required to purchase a life insurance policy to compensate the carrier’sr family in the event of death as a complication of pregnancy.

    • Carriers who are not employed will not receive lost wages.

    • Carriers employed and have lost wages because of bed rest will receive the lost wages benefit, depending on net income. Alcea offers disability insurance as a standing cost in our contracts to minimize surprise expenses in the event of bed rest.

    • IVF clinics charge different amounts to screen a carrier. Alcea has partner relationships with several clinics across the country and we can work with you to find one within your budget

    • The costs of the IVF cycle can vary. The amount listed is only an estimate of the total costs.

    • If the carrier does not live near your IVF clinic, the carrier will likely monitor at a nearby fertility clinic or doctor's office. These costs are paid separately to the fertility clinic or doctor's office doing the monitoring.
